Daily Activities

Monday - Literacy

This is the whale who came one night,

When the tide was high and the stars were bright,

A humpback whale, immensely long,

Who sang to the snail a wonderful song.

Of shimmering ice and coral caves.

And shooting stars and enormous waves

The whale sang a song to the snail as they went on their adventures together.

Can you write your own song?  Your song can be about the snail and the whale or about anything else.  Please upload a video of yourself reading or singing your song onto Class Dojo.

Types of weather in a rainforest

Tuesday - Science

What is a rainforest?  Where would you find a rainforest in the world?  Is there a rainforest near Basingstoke?  Why?

Can you tell us about the different types of weather there is in a rainforest?

Please take a photo of your work and upload it onto Class Dojo.

Where will your adventure take you?

Wednesday - Literacy

If you could go on an adventure with the whale and the snail, where would you go?  How would you get there?  What would you take with you?

Miss Thompson: 'I would go to a desert island because it is peaceful and quiet.  I would take a book, my suncream and a bucket and spade.  I would travel in a boat with the snail and the whale swimming alongside.

Miss Peckett:  'I would travel to New York in America in an aeroplane.  I would take my trainers, a map and some money to go shopping.  I would meet the snail and the whale in the river near the Manhattan bridge.

Please take a photo of your work and upload it onto Class Dojo.

Snail on a rock (or stone)

Thursday - Art

Can you find a large stone or a small rock in your garden or on your walk and draw or paint a picture of a snail on it.  Wait for it to dry.

Can you go on an adventure in your house or in your garden with the snail?  Where will you go?  What will you see?  You can be as imaginative and creative as you like.

Please upload a video of your adventure on Class Dojo.

What would you have at a tea party for the snail and the whale?

Friday - Art or cooking

Imagine you have invited the snail and the whale to a tea party at your house.  What do you think you would cook or make for them?  Draw a picture of your tea party or make some sandwiches, bake a cake, cook some sausages or buy some chocolate!

Please take a photo of the food you have cooked or the picture you have drawn of your tea party and upload it onto Class dojo.
