Wednesday Writing Challenge - Week 4 wb 11.05.20

As you may have noticed with the stories we have been looking at, they are all about going on journeys. This links to the new text ‘The Ugly Duckling’. Have a listen to the story to find out about the journey the duckling goes on.

Once you have listen to the story and are familiar with it, you can now begin the writing challenge. The writing challenge involves writing a few sentences or key words to go alongside pictures of the story.

We have provided two documents that vary in difficulty. The first document includes 3 pictures from the story and will require you to write at least 3 sentences or key words. The second document includes 6 pictures from the story and will require you to write at least 6 sentences or key words.

If you are unable to print out these documents please feel free to have the story open (on a computer or tablet), pick your own pictures and write sentences in your yellow book.

The word mat below includes key words that may be helpful when writing the sentences.

Extension

The document below includes a series of pictures from the story, can you print it off, cut out the pictures and jumble them up? Then see if you can remember the sequence of the story and put them in the right order.

AND/OR

Can you film yourself telling the story of The Ugly Duckling? Use actions, props or anything else you can think of to help you tell it.
