Easter Bunny Maths Challenges

The Easter Bunny has been counting his eggs in 2s, 5s and 10s.  Look at the challenges below and fill the gaps.  He has also been making patterns with his eggs.  Can you continue the pattern?  Can you make your own pattern?

Easter Acrostic Poem

Can you write an Easter acrostic poem?  An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase. The most common and simple form of an acrostic poem is where the first letters of each line spell out the word or phrase.

Miss Peckett wrote an EASTER acrostic poem, you can choose if you want it to rhyme.

Easter eggs are delicious to eat.

Apple blossom is growing on the trees.

Spring flowers are blowing in the wind.

Tiny lambs are skipping about in the fields.

Eat lots of chocolate.
Rabbits like to hop and jump.

Can you write a poem with the following Easter words:

R            L            C            E            B            C            F

A            A            H            G           O            H            L

Spring Chicken song

This is a song that the children enjoy singing at Easter time, there are also actions which I am sure your child will share with you.  The lyrics are below for everyone to sing along to.  Enjoy!

Spring Chicken!

1. One mother hen sat on 4 little eggs,

Keeping them warm in her little egg nest.

Then one day she heard a crack

And a little voice said, as the egg was hatched:

CHORUS               "I'm... a... spring chicken!

                                I'm yellow and small.

My feathers are fluffy and they're keeping me warm.

My legs are not long, so I'll never be tall,

But I'm a real spring chicken and I'm having a ball!

                                (Chicken, I'm a chicken, I'm a havin' a ball!)"

2. One mother hen sat on 3 little eggs,

Keeping them warm in her little egg nest.

Then one day she fell asleep

And a little voice said in a whispered tweet:

CHORUS

3. One mother hen sat on 2 little eggs,

Keeping them warm in her little egg nest.

Then one day she moved about

And a little voice said, as a chick popped out:

CHORUS

4. One mother hen sat on 1 little egg,

Keeping it warm in her little egg nest.

Then one day she gave a sigh

And a little voice said "SURPRISE! SURPRISE!!"

CHORUS

"I'm... a... spring chicken!

                I'm yellow and small.

My feathers are fluffy and they're keeping me warm.

My legs are not long, so I'll never be tall,

But I'm a real spring chicken and I'm having a ball!

There are many zoos which have webcams in some of the animal enclosures.  At Edinburgh zoo you can see the panda, the penguins and a koala bear.

At the aquarium of the pacific in California there are many webcams of aquatic animals for you to look at.  Below are some for you to look at.
