In order to help your child’s reading progression, there are additional books in their book bag. Please read with them and record in Reading Record books. Please also record any books from home they have read – these can be story books, recipe books, comics, e-books etc!
We would like you to read minimum 5 times a week.
Play the games and activities on Spelling Frame. Please look at the new tests. A new one will come out on a Monday. Children should use the Username and Password in their Reading Record books.
Click on https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student. Type ‘Manor Field Infant School, Basingstoke’. Type in your child’s Username and Password, which are stuck in their Reading Record books. Enter the Garage and practice the times table for that week (it has been set up to begin with 10x table).

BBC Bitesize – KS1
This is a great resource with a range of different videos, games and activities to help your child’s learning across the curriculum.
Why is there a red book in my child’s book bag?
To support your child’s learning they have also been given an exercise book. This is NOT for doodling but to be used in conjunction with activities on the school website that require paper (writing tasks, information gathering, numeracy challenges etc.). The evidence provided in this book will support our assessments of your child’s learning and improve our capacity to inform their prospective Year 3 teachers of their ability moving forwards.
