Wrap Around Club
We have had a super start to the new year with lots of new faces and fun activities. When the children come to us, we ask them to remember 4 things. That they are in our club to feel safe and happy, to learn and play. We then ask them to sign our agreement by adding a bow to the kites to help them remember to make each day positive for themselves and their friends.
Mrs Wolf & Ms Butler
The children have been busy making characters from four of Roald Dahl's most popular stories. They have used a variety of techniques including painting, sewing and paper folding.
Can you spot which books they come from?
The children have been out and about collecting Autumn leaves to make some wonderful Autumn Lions. We chose our favourite words to describe the sound and movement of the leaves.
In Wrap Around Club, we have been talking about Macmillan coffee mornings and what they mean to us. We decided to make some cake to sell at the school coffee morning today. The children had great fun mixing and decorating.
For the last 2 weeks, we have been celebrating Harvest, and learning all about what Harvest means to us. The children experienced many different crafts including salt dough peas, bead pumpkins, finger painting, bubble wrap sweetcorn and Dingle Dangle Scarecrows. As well as baking our own bread.
We have been baking all week, but on Monday, we had fun making our chefs hats and writing out the recipe cards for our bakes. The children chose jam and lemon curd tarts, chocolate crackle cakes and cheese straws.
Halloween was very busy, with carving and paint and reveal pumpkins and swedes, as well as sparkly spiders and the most fabulous cotton bud skeletons. The children enjoyed their tea by candlelight and their pumpkins glowing.
