There were lots of activities arranged this week for the children to not only learn about the Easter story, but to also have fun and relax at the end of another busy term. There was weaving, chocolate nest baking and an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt.
The children were asked what topic they would like to find out more about, so this half term we did all things SPACE. The reading corner was full of fiction and non-fiction books about space, rockets, astronauts and aliens. The children loved reading stories and expanding their knowledge. In our art we used many different techniques to create a space themed display, with potato print stars, hand print world, spray paint galaxies, watercolour wash planets, felt rockets as well as colouring and cutting themselves as astronauts and making aliens and spaceships.
As part of the topic, we also had fruit tasting and the children then created space rockets for their pudding with the fruit. Somehow a couple of cheeky marshmallows found their way in too!!
